GREENHOOD at the 2nd Fresh Water Net Clustering Event

On March 6th, 2025, GREENHOOD participated in the 2nd Fresh Water Net Clustering Event in Brussels, an important gathering that brought together stakeholders from across the fresh water bioeconomy sector. Organised by the BIOEAST Thematic Working Group on Fresh Water-Based Bioeconomy, the event provided a platform for discussion, collaboration, and knowledge exchange on sustainable freshwater management.
About Fresh Water Net & BIOEAST
Fresh Water Net is an online community initiated by BIOEAST, focusing on fresh water bioeconomy issues crucial for the BIOEAST macro-region. Recognising the importance of freshwater resources, policymakers have prioritised this topic. Supporting this initiative, the BOOST4BIOEAST (B4B) project empowers stakeholders in Central Eastern European and Baltic countries by fostering national bioeconomy action plans and long-term collaboration frameworks.
BIOEAST HUB CZ, the first national BIOEAST HUB in Central and Eastern Europe, was established with the support of the BIOEAST Initiative and the Czech Ministry of Agriculture to enhance regional bioeconomy development.
Held during the European Ocean Days, the event aimed to strengthen international collaboration on freshwater challenges. Key highlights included:
- Innovative pilot projects tackling climate challenges.
- Business model presentations engaging entrepreneurs in the bioeconomy.
- Collaboration opportunities to enhance networking and stakeholder synergies.
Participants, including experts, policymakers, public administration representatives, and industry leaders, engaged in discussions and presentations to promote sustainable freshwater management solutions.
