From 4–5 March 2026, GREENHOOD will be in Ede-Wageningen, the Netherlands, for the seventh edition of ManuREsource, the leading international conference on manure management and nutrient recovery.

About the event

ManuREsource is a key international forum designed to bridge the gap between regional policies and innovative manure treatment technologies. Held at the ReeHorst Congress Centre in Ede-Wageningen, this edition brings together researchers, policymakers, technology providers, and farmers to tackle the global challenge of manure surpluses.

The central theme of ManuREsource 2026 is “Manure as a Resource”, highlighting the shift from waste management to circular valorisation. The conference is structured around three key pillars:

  • Manure as a resource: Exploring its use as fuel, soil enhancers, fertilisers, and even growth substrates for cultivation.
  • Sustainability and policy: Assessing the impact of precision farming, emission reductions, and specific regional developments.
  • Technological innovation: Showcasing the latest advancements in the treatment of manure and digestate.

GREENHOOD at the event

GREENHOOD’s participation at ManuREsource 2026 is led by partners from two of our demo-regions, focusing on cross-basin knowledge exchange and practical circular solutions.

  • Rhine, Meuse & Scheldt Basin Demo-Region: Professor Erik Meers of Ghent University (GREENHOOD partner and coordinator of this demo-region alongside Deltares from the Netherlands) is leading a dedicated session on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS). This session aims to explore how NbS can be integrated into regional systems to optimise nutrient capture and reuse.
  • Ebro River Basin Demo-Region: The BETA Technological Centre is hosting the GREENHOOD stand in the exhibition area, serving as a communication hub to raise awareness about the project’s mission and the specific progress made within the Ebro demo-region.

Thanks to this participation, GREENHOOD aims to strengthen synergy between European projects and the wider industry, ensuring that research-based innovations in manure treatment lead to scalable, sustainable business models.
