PA Nutri Talks on Nutrient Recycling in the Baltic Sea Region

GREENHOOD joined leading experts and policy-makers at the second PA Nutri Talks webinar to explore regional strategies and stakeholder cooperation for advancing nutrient recycling in the Baltic Sea Region. The event brought together projects and initiatives contributing to the EU Green Deal and was organised as a partner event of EU Green Week 2025.

About the event

The PA Nutri Talks on Nutrient Recycling in the Baltic Sea Region (9 June 2025) was the continuation of the successful first edition held in September 2024. Hosted online, the event gathered scientists, policy-makers, and practitioners to share insights and solutions addressing nutrient leakage, recycling technologies, and circular economy practices in the Baltic Sea Region.

Event highlights

  • National perspectives from Sweden, Latvia, and Finland
  • Stakeholder views, including those from Latvian farmers
  • Updates from Horizon Europe and Interreg projects, including GREENHOOD, Fertitec, CiNURGi, and BIOSOLfarm
  • A final interactive workshop drafting a joint statement for the EU’s open consultation on the Bioeconomy Strategy

GREENHOOD at the event

The project was presented by Kari Ylivainio from LUKE, Natural Resources Institute Finland, partner of GREENHOOD and coordinator of the Archipelago Sea Basin demo-region. The event offered a great platform to showcase GREENHOOD’s activities in the Baltic Sea Region and to foster the foundations for cross-sector cooperation in sustainable nutrient use.
