Sea2Land & Novafert Final Conference

GREENHOOD is joining the Sea2Land and Novafert Final Conference, a key gathering to advance the adoption of circular fertilisers in European agriculture. Represented by the BETA Technological Centre, we will engage with stakeholders, share insights, and explore synergies to drive sustainable nutrient recycling.
This cross-sectoral gathering brings together farmers, policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss how innovative nutrient recycling solutions can reduce Europe’s reliance on imported fertilisers and restore soil health through circular practices.
About the event
Europe’s agricultural sector faces a critical challenge: balancing crop nutrient needs with unsustainable reliance on external fertilisers. The EU-funded Sea2Land and Novafert projects have pioneered ways to transform organic waste (such as manure, fish waste, and industrial by-products) into high-value fertilisers, closing nutrient loops and strengthening regional resilience.
Event hihglights
- Plenary Sessions & Policy Debate
Experts from the Sea2Land, Novafert, and Nutri-Know initiatives will discuss the latest research, policy incentives, and regulatory barriers to nutrient recycling. The policy debate will focus on actionable recommendations for supporting the widespread adoption of circular fertilisers. - Interactive Parallel Sessions
Dive deeper into scientific advancements, technology developments, and real-world applications of bio-based fertilisers with researchers, industry representatives, and policymakers. - Networking Opportunities
Connect with key stakeholders from across Europe’s agro-industrial, research, and policy ecosystems.
The conference will be partially hybrid. Please note that only the plenary sessions will be live-streamed.
About the projects
Novafert focused on improving the environmental performance of alternative fertilising products by creating guidelines that address the entire fertiliser lifecycle, from production to application.
Sea2Land promoted large-scale production of fertilisers from locally available organic materials, aiming to correct nutrient imbalances across Europe. The project produced crop-specific bio-based fertilisers and developed nutrient maps for Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, Magnesium, and Calcium.
GREENHOOD at the event
As part of our commitment to sustainable agri-food systems, GREENHOOD is proud to join this unique event. Through the conference, we will be able to align efforts with Sea2Land, Novafert, and Nutri-Know initiatives, ensuring that scientific advances translate into real-world impact.
Represented by the BETA Technological Centre, we will showcase our work in nutrient recycling and circular agriculture, connect with partners across sectors to scale solutions, and advocate for policies that support farmers in transitioning to circular fertilisers.
