Updates from the Trondheim Fjord Basin: Shaping Trøndelag's new circular value chains
Last February, our Norwegian partners at NTNU gathered with other initiatives to organise a joint workshop with the NCE Aquatech Cluster, the Agritech Cluster, WoodWorks! Cluster and the national projects BioVerdi 2.0 and FoSiMo.
The goal was to bring together key stakeholder groups of the region, such as leaders from the aquaculture, forest and farmers industries, as well as R&D actors and the National Norwegian Environment Agency.
What happened?
During the event, the GREEHOOD project convened stakeholders to share knowledge and explore opportunities across the green value chain. Participants from companies and research organisations organised in different working groups had the opportunity to discuss the technical, economic, and regulatory potential for value creation through different value chain models.
Additionally, a new business model canvas tool developed by the FoSiMo Project was tested during the event, proving useful for initiating cross-sector collaboration among attendees. By the end of the gathering, participants left with a better understanding of value chain mechanisms and opportunities for future collaboration.
What’s next?
Upon the next steps, participants agreed on further exploring different value chain opportunities that might be linked to pyrolysis, anaerobic digestion, production of recycled mineral phosphorus, and drying using residual heat. Norwegian partners plan to engage more closely with regulatory authorities, in order to explore and clarify the possibilities and limitations within the existing policy framework. In this regard, continuous collaboration and communication with key stakeholders will be crucial.
